At American Freedom Distillery, every system is designed with purpose: to protect flavor, maximize precision, and elevate what American whiskey can be.

Built from the ground up, this is where time-honored bourbon tradition meets global craft, advanced technology, and an uncompromising pursuit of better.

OUR APPROACH

We took what we learned in the field and applied it to our business. We found the experts, asked every question worth asking, and got our hands dirty doing the work. Scotland, Ireland, France, Japan. We learned from the best in the world, then brought it all home to Kentucky.

We believe our best bourbon is still ahead. The Barrel Program is where that belief gets put to work — constant testing, tasting, blending, and pushing what a barrel can do.

We're independent. With no family recipe, we're free to question "the way it's always been done." We take that freedom seriously and bring intentionality to every step. That means working across oaks, origins, char levels, and finishes, partnering with some of the world's most respected coopers to bring centuries of craft on site, where time-honored bourbon tradition meets worldwide influence and becomes something that could only come from Horse Soldier. As we like to say, "The spirit in the bottle is the spirit in all of us."

Because bourbon is America's spirit. It just made sense.

What Makes Us Better?
We never take the shortcut. We never have, and we never will.

We start fresh every time with sweet mash fermentation. No recycling. No inherited flavor. It is harder, more demanding, and more complex in return.

Our proprietary yeast strain was built specifically for Horse Soldier, drawing out the stone fruit notes of peach, cherry, and apricot that define our signature.

Then comes intentional maturation, shaped by world-class craft and executed right here in Kentucky.
